Spistle
(Root Snake)

Mongrel Truncalus

Due to the nondescript and failing looks of this creature, small animals often wander by it without batting an eye. This would be a mistake, for the Mongrel is neither frail, nor a plant. Using its pronged tail, this hairy snake burrows into the ground, disguising itself in the leaves of dying plants. When unsuspecting rodents like the Pushkin pass, this mirage scholar swoops down to deliver a poisonous bite. Due to the size of its prey, it often lets them wander off poisoned, following a scent trail later. By feeding in this way, the Root Snake avoids needless wrangling in the hazardous environment where it is most often found: namely, the cliffs, and the mountains.
